ABOUT BLOTCHED

Blotched is a tiny batch studio for abstract and handmade objects shaped through reuse and experimentation. Pieces include handmade ceramics, sculptured vessels, comfortable up-cycled vintage jewelry, and abstract paintings to accent living spaces. Everything is one of a kind made slowly and in small runs. The pieces are functional, some lean sculptural, and many sit somewhere in between. These objects are meant to be worn, used, handled, and lived with over time. Blotched isn’t a brand or a fixed aesthetic, but an ongoing studio practice that returns to similar materials and gestures, allowing them to shift naturally.

I’m an artist working primarily with ceramics and small-scale objects from my studio. My work sits at the intersection of function and sculpture, shaped by intuition, repetition, and a hands-on relationship with materials. I’m interested in objects that feel slightly off. forms that resist perfection + how those qualities can still exist within pieces meant to be used every day. Use is an essential part of the work. A mug is meant to be lifted, a vessel to be non vacant, an object to be handled and lived with. I think about the way a form asks for attention without demanding it. Wear, variation, and time are welcomed. These objects are not meant to stay pristine. Alongside ceramics, I work with found and vintage materials, often taking objects apart and reassembling them into new forms. This practice comes from an interest in reuse, memory, and allowing materials to carry their own history into the work rather than starting from something untouched. My studio practice is slow and small-batch by design. Each piece is made individually, and no two are exactly alike. The work reflects an ongoing process rather than a fixed style as I return to similar gestures and materials, allowing them to shift over time.
